Historical Society to hold genealogy workshop

MIDDLEBURG -- The Snyder County Historical Society will host a workshop titled "36 Ways to Spell Kerstetter..The Crazy World of Genealogy" at 2 p.m. Sept. 17 at 30 E. Market St., Middleburg.

Ann Roll, of the Northumberland County Historical Society will discuss confusing and amusing factors that go into genealogy research.

VA to host enrollment fair

JOHNSTOWN -- The James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center (JEVZ VAMC) is holding an enrollment fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday Sept. 21 at its Johnstown Outpatient Clinic.

At the fair, JEVZ VAMC team members, including enrollment specialists, Veteran Service Officers, and Veteran Benefits Administration representatives will assist Veterans in enrolling into VA healthcare and filing service-connected disability claims. The event also includes representatives from JEVZ VAMC's Whole Health, Women's Health, Mental Health, and Connected Care teams, along with team members from other service areas.

The Johnstown Tomahawks will also be on site giving away a free ticket to every Veteran that applies for VA Healthcare at the event.

This is the last enrollment fair the JEVZ VAMC plans to hold this spring and summer.
