Lewistown man charged with forgery

LEWISTOWN — Officers responded to a call Monday, July 24 around 4:30 p.m. from Puff-N-Stuff on South Main Street.

According to a report from Lewistown Police Department, Herbert William Niswonger, 43, entered the store and attempted to purchase tobacco products using a counterfeit $100 and $50 bill.

Police said employees accepted the money and noticed that his bills said “for motion picture purposes” and “copy” as well as not having several other security features.

The merchandise was returned.

The police found Niswonger on Pannebaker Avenue and he told officers that he found $182 in counterfeit bills on Chestnut Street.

According to the police report, Niswonger, of Lewistown, was found with another $32 in counterfeit bills in his possession.

Niswonger was charged with forgery and theft by deception. He is being held in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility pending an arraignment.

Reedsville man charged

with indecent exposure

LEWISTOWN — Police were called to M.R. Stax regarding an incident that occurred Friday, July 28.

According to a report issued by Lewistown Police Department, surveillance footage showed Brandon Holbrook, of Reedsville, touching his genitals while watching a female patron inside the gym.

Holbrook was charged with indecent exposure as well as open lewdness.

Police respond to report

of stolen bicycle

LEWISTOWN — Officers responded to a report of a bicycle taken from the side yard of a residence on South Wayne Street between 10 p.m. July 24 and 10 a.m. July 25.

According to the Lewistown Police Department, the bicycle was taken from a 12 year old and is described as a gray Sierra Kink Curb Bmx, valued at $300. It has a Sierra sticker on the side and an orange sticker on the handle bars.

Lewistown women arrested

for active warrant

LEWISTOWN — Officers from the Lewistown Police Department responded to a call on Friday, July 28, in the area of West Sixth Street, in which 38-year-old Lewistown resident, Tabitha Fultz, was recognized by another individual while working on a vehicle.

The report says Fultz had an active warrant for her arrest and that she was taken to Mifflin County Correctional Facility.

Lewistown man arrested for 3 warrants

LEWISTOWN — Officers conducted a traffic stop Friday, July 28, on a vehicle in the area of West Water Street.

According to the report, issued by Lewistown Police Department, the driver was identified as Brandon Knepp, 34, of Lewistown, who was found to have a suspended license and three active warrants for his arrest.

Knepp was arrested without incident and held at Mifflin County Correctional Facility.

Lewistown man charged

with public drunkenness

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department conducted an investigation on public drunkenness on Saturday in the area of West Market Street.

According to the report, Trevor Weavor, 22, of Lewistown, was found intoxicated in the square and was seen lying in the road.

The report states, Weavor was arrested and transported home for the night. Weavor will be cited for public drunkeness.

woman charged

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department conducted an investigation of runaway youths, Thursday, July 27, in the area of Logan Street.

According to the police report, the parent/guardian identified as Kristy Cisney became verbally loud, causing disorderly behavior when the children were returned.

Cisney was cited with disorderly conduct.

Woman charged with harassment

LEWISTOWN — A 56-year-old woman was charged last week with harassment after officers with the Lewistown Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance on South Juniata Street.

Terri Kauffman, of Lewistown, was cited for the incident.
