CareerLink to host job fair
LEWISTOWN -- CareerLink of Mifflin County will hold its Winning Wednesday Mini Job Fair from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 16 at its 6395 SR 103N, MCIDC Plaza, Building 58 location.
Human resource representatives from Clayton Homes, Darling Industries, In-Home Health Services of Central PA, Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, Marcal, Spherion, T-Mobile and The Academy of Science and Technology will be available to talk to jobseekers about their open positions.
Positions range from entry level to advanced, skilled and unskilled, full and part time. Positions include forklift operator, registered nurse, caregiver, retail sales, yard driver, food service, production, maintenance, and more.
PA CareerLink staff will be on-hand to meet job seekers who need help with career planning, job search and tuition assistance.

Divorce Care ministry kicks off
BELLEVILLE -- Divorce Care for adults and DC4K (Divorce Care for Kids) kicks off on
Sept. 11, at New Life Church, 101 N. Beech Street, Burnham, PA and at Locust Grove Church at 3358 W. Main St. Belleville. The Divorce Care programs run in conjunction with Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K).
In Burnham, parents attending Divorce Care at New Life Church are invited to enroll their
children in Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K) there while families attending the Belleville group will enroll their children at Locust Grove.
Registration can be done in advance by calling the phone numbers below.
DC4K is a student support group for children ages 5 years - 12 years whose families are experiencing separation/divorce. At DC4K, kids are engaged in crafts, games, activities, DVD dramas, and music. The program is scheduled to run through Dec. 11, and will feature small groups.
DC (Divorce Care) for adults is a divorce support group that meets weekly for 13 weeks to help adults recover from the pain of separation and divorce. Participants experience a warm, caring
environment led by people who care and want to help attendees find healing and wholeness in the midst of their circumstances.

Community Band concert slated for Aug. 13
LEWISTOWN -- The Lewistown Community Band will present its final concert of the summer season at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13 at Calvary Bible Church, 100 Calvary Lane in Lewistown. The 35-piece band is under the direction of Peter Marsh and Terri Limes.
The program will include a new piece for the band, "Lyric Interlude," written by local musician, Philip Loewen. Loewen's compositions and arrangements include works for jazz and concert bands, small ensembles and church choirs.
Also on the program will be selections from "Phantom of the Opera," by Andrew Lloyd Weber, and Randy Edleman's music from the film, "Gettysburg."
The final concert is free and open to the public. The next opportunity to hear the band will be during the ice festival.
