Looking for something to do with family and friends this weekend? Check out these five events around the Juniata Valley:
1. Third Friday
in Reedsville
What better way to start the weekend than with some mobile flame brick oven pizza? How about combining it with some live music from Bernie Rich? Those are just two of the highlights from Third Friday in Reedsville, which starts at 5 p.m. Friday. Rich will perform at the gazebo. Music, food and drink specials are part of the fun as the community gathers in downtown Reedsville. 2. Burnham Fire Co. Penny Bazaar
Doors open for the 47th annual event at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Burnham Fire Dept., 205 N. Beech St., Burnham, for this fundraising event. The bazaar includes a penny auction, food, games and much more. Prizes include a Polaris Ranger 2023 SP570, Green Mountain pellet grill and 100 gallons of home heating fuel. Part of the proceeds from the 50/50 raffle will benefit the special needs classrooms throughout the Mifflin County School District. For more information, call (717) 248-8385.
3. Music on the Beach Concert Series
Obvious Pocket will bring their music to the beach at Whipple Dam State Park, located at 3746 Laurel Run Road, Petersburg, for a free concert from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. 4. Open Wheel Madness III at Port Royal Speedway
The Speed Palace in Port Royal hosts a huge tripleheader event featuring the 410 sprints, PASS/IMCA 305 sprints and USAC East Coast Wingless 360 sprints. The action starts at 7 p.m. Saturday. 5. Pirates and mermaids weekend
Join Buttonwood Campground, 1515 E. River Rd., Mifflintown, for a weekend filled with all kinds of pirate activities, such as hunting for hidden treasures, sinking a pirate ship and even more fun stuff.
