PORT ROYAL -- A 53-year-old man is facing assault charges for allegedly threatening law enforcement
Steven C. Cisney, of Port Royal, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Tracy Powell on two counts of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and related charges Wednesday.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the Juniata County Sheriff's office was called to Cisney's residence Monday afternoon to remove a Cat Excavator from the property due to a Writ of Possession.
Law enforcement reported that as they were pulling up Cisney's driveway, they saw Cisney's vehicle coming down the driveway at a high rate of speed, then veering off the road toward them.
Officers noted concern about Cisney ramming his truck into the patrol car, and quickly put the patrol car in reverse before Cisney came to an abrupt stop.
The document states that both Cisney and the officers got out of their vehicles and that Cisney was erratic, yelling and profusely sweating.
At about 3:30 p.m., two more deputies arrived to assist and Cisney was eventually detained for the safety of officers due to him making threats.
The report says that Cisney had two outstanding warrants for his arrest -- one in York County and one in Virginia.
Cisney is being held in Mifflin County Correctional Facility, unable to post $75,000 bail. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing set for 11 a.m. July 27.
