LEWISTOWN -- There are many aspects of the Juniata Valley that could be considered iconic: the rolling mountains, flowing waters and natural surroundings.
Each of these certainly can be found throughout the region.
Juniata River Valley Visitors Bureau Executive Director Jenny Barron Landis wanted her agency's logo to be more recognizable, which is why they unveiled a new design
Monday afternoon.
"As our promotional efforts continue to expand farther outside central PA, this new logo with the keystone shape will help visitors know that we're located in Pennsylvania, instantly," Landis said.
The bureau's original logo, which was created in 2005 when the agency was formed, has been difficult to work with and was not identifiable to visitors.
The more contemporary design, which was created by Ryan Cherry, still contains the spirit of the original logo showcasing the Juniata River Valley's mountains, river and sunny days, but in an updated design.
"The important thing about being a brand is that whenever people see it in the world, they should recognize that it's you," Landis said. "So, you will be seeing this design on everything we do."
Over the next few months, the bureau will update its signage, website, advertising, publications, social media and merchandise with this new logo.
The Visitors Bureau offices are located in the Historic Courthouse on Monument Square, Lewistown. For more information, visit www.jrvvisitors.com or call (717) 248-6713.
