Wise, Sigler expected to come out on top in contested race

LEWISTOWN -- Noah Wise was the top Republican vote getter in Mifflin County's Board of School Directors race in Tuesday's primary election.
Wise received 3,397 of 22,624 total votes. Voters were asked to select five candidates on the ballot. Paula Dickson received 2,743 votes while Frederick Nickel received 2,720 votes. Zeb Harshbarger received 2,455 votes and E. Terry Styers received 2,352 votes. Rose Schultz received 2,122 votes and Mary Lou Sigler R received 2,091. Also on the Republican ballot, Dianne Shearer received 1,954 votes, Danica Laub received 1,431 and Lori Kay Haines received 1,327.
On the Democratic side, Mary Lou Sigler was the top vote getter with 1,130 of 5,189 total votes with Dianne Shearer following closely behind with 1,126. E. Terry Styers received 1,031 votes, Danica Laub received 1,000 and Wise received 775.
