Three Greenwood employees face abuse charges

LEWISTOWN — Three Mifflin County women were charged for alleged abuse of a care dependent person at Greenwood Village, a senior living facility.

Christine Reed, 50, of Lewistown, and Lexis Hays, 25, of Lewistown, were charged with seven counts of misdemeanor illegal use of video, audio or images. They waived their rights to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Reed Wednesday.

Lydia Hoover, 22, of Milroy, was charged with one count of misdemeanor illegal use of video video, audio or images. Hoover’s preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. July 17.

According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the allegations date back to December when Mifflin County Regional Police were called to Greenwood Village, Derry Township.

The report states that a witness who is contracted to work for the facility witnessed employees taking pictures

with or of residents.

According to the report, Reed would make sexual comments to a patient in the dementia unit and at one point got into bed with him and was physically inappropriate. The report states that Hoover took pictures of Reed in bed with the patient.

It was reported that Hayes had video of another patient on her cell phone.

A supervisor at Greenwood told police that in order to take pictures of patients, employees must obtain a consent form signed by the family.
