Paving continues on Route 35

1 min read

MIFFLINTOWN -- PennDOT is updating drivers on a highway resurfacing project in Juniata and Mifflin counties.

Milling and paving operations on Route 35 between Reeds Gap and the Huntingdon County line will resume Tuesday, May 30. Crews will not work on Monday, May 29, due to the Memorial Day holiday. Flaggers in the roadway will provide traffic control during daylight hours. PennDOT also urges drivers to exercise caution, to be alert for construction vehicles making sudden stops, and not to follow construction vehicles into the closed lane as they deliver material.

Additionally, the contractor will replace ADA-compliant handicap ramps on Route 3005 (Bratton Avenue) between Fourth Street and Big Ridge Road in Lewistown Borough starting Tuesday, May 30. Flaggers in the roadway will provide traffic control. However, PennDOT expects traffic impacts to be minimal.

The contractor plans to start milling and paving operations on Bratton Avenue on Thursday, June 1. Traffic control for this work also consists of flagging and will result in more significant traffic impacts.
