Community meeting for "Our Town: Big Valley" show is 7 p.m. Wednesday
BELLEVILLE - The production crew for the WPSU-TV series "Our Town: Big Valley" will hold a community meeting at the Brookemere Winery, 5369 Route 655, Belleville, at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Anyone who is interested in learning more about being part of the program is encouraged to attend the meeting. You do not have to live in the Big Valley to be part of the show. PSP: One-vehicle accident reported in Wayne Township; driver transported
MOUNT UNION - The Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown reported a one-vehicle crash that took place at 9:20 p.m. on Monday, May 15. According to the Public Information Release Report, Bobbi-Jo Carlin of Mount Union was driving a 2014 Dodge Dart and traveling south on Route 522, Wayne Township, Mifflin County, when she struck a rock that was in the roadway. The release continued that Carlin then traveled into the northbound lane, traveled down an embankment, rolled over and came to final rest on its drivers side. PSP said Carlin sustained minor injuries and was transported by Newton-Wayne Fire Co. to Lewistown Hospital. The reported stated Carlin was wearing a lap and shoulder seat belt.
PSP: Driver cited for unsafe speed in one-vehicle accident
MIFFLIN - Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown cited William Baum Jr. of Mifflin for driving his 1986 Navistar 2500 at an unsafe speed after they were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident at 10:51 a.m. on Friday, May 19. According to the Public Information Release Report, the crash occurred on Route 74 South in Turbett Township, Juniata County. PSP said the crash occurred as Baum was traveling north on Route 74. While traveling north, Baum lost his brakes and was negotiating a right-hand curve traveling too fast, police said. Baum's vehicle flipped onto its driver's side then rolled over, the report continued. Baum's vehicle came to final rest on its passenger side facing South, PSP said. The report stated Baum was wearing his seat belt and sustained possible injuries. The release said Baum refused transport. State police were assisted on the scene by Port Royal Fire and EMS.
PSP: Rock causes one-vehicle accident in Wayne Township; no one injured
MOUNT UNION - Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown reported a one-vehicle accident along Route 522, Wayne Township, Mifflin County at 9:52 p.m. on Monday, May 15. According to the Public Information Release Report, a 2013 Cadillac CTS driven by Kaleb Atherton of Mount Union struck a rock in the middle of the roadway. PSP said Atherton was able to control the vehicle until it came to a stop on the southbound shoulder of Route 522. There were two passengers in the vehicle: Brooke Reeder of Mount Union; and a male, age 4. All occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts, police said. None of them were injured. Newtown-Wayne Fire Co. also assisted.
