Regional police release monthly stats
LEWISTOWN -- Mifflin County Regional Police announced that it completed 437 incident reports for the month of April 2023.
Of those reports, officers investigated 19 incidents of theft/fraud, one assault and 19 motor vehicle accidents.
Officers issued 94 traffic citations and 11 non traffic citations.
Officers also made seven arrests for driving under the influence.
Civil War round table held
BOALSBURG -- The Central PA Civil War Round Table will meet at 7 p.m. June 6, at the PA Military Museum auditorium, 51 Boal Avenue, Boalsburg.
The featured speaker will be Jared Frederick on "The Unfinished Work: The Hidden History of the World Wars at Gettysburg." June 6 is WWII D-Day so this topic is most appropriate.
Frederick has served as a seasonal Interpretive Park Ranger at Gettysburg National Military Park and Harper's Ferry National Historical Park. He has been a commentator on the American Battlefield Trust's online Civil War in Four series and has appeared on C-SPAN, PBS, and PCN in numerous National Park Service productions. He currently serves as Instructor of History at Penn State Altoona. He has written many books on the Civil War and WWII and will have them for sale.

Man facing assault charges
LEWISTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police-Lewistown charged 31-year-old Payton Kerstetter, of McAlisterville, with domestic assault after an incident of violence was reported against a 13-year-old male at a McAlisterville home.
