Vehicle pursuit in Selinsgrove
SELINSGROVE -- Authorities in Selinsgrove were involved in a vehicle pursuit on April 27. According to State Police, troopers attempted to stop a black Dodge Durango with a Maryland registration on North Market St. after observing several traffic violations. The operator turned the lights off and the vehicle accelerated rapidly, traveling south toward Rte. 11/15. At that point, the pursuit was terminated. The Maryland registration plate was later determined to have been stolen. The investigation will continue.
Dirt bike stolen in Snyder County
MONROE TOWNSHIP -- A1 Towing reported the theft of a 2018 green and white Kawasaki dirt bike, model KX252A, from the lot on Rte. 15 N. in Monroe Township, Snyder County. The bike was last seen on March 29. Anyone with information should contact State Police at Selinsgrove at (570) 374-8145.
MCHS finishes season
LEWISTOWN -- The Mifflin County High School Indoor Drumlines, Color Guards and Dance Team finished their season on Sunday, April 30 at the Tournament of Bands Indoor Association, Susquehanna Valley Region 4 Championships held at Bellefonte Area High School.
The results of the competition were as follows:
MCHS Indoor Jr. High Drumline, 1st Place with a score of 80.500
MCHS Indoor Sr. High Drumline, 1st Place with a score of 91.100
MCHS Indoor Jr. High Guard, 1st Place with a score of 64.660
MCHS Indoor Sr. High Guard, 4th Place with a score of 70.850
MCHS Indoor Dance Team, 2nd Place with a score of 74.900
All scores were the highest for each group.
Spring fling hosted for people
with disabilities
STATE COLLEGE -- A Spring Fling Dance, sponsored by the Skills and Friends Social Club, will be held on Friday, May 5.
People living with disabilities are welcome to attend the event, slated for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Tim Houser, at the Mount Nittany Middle School Cafeteria. There is no fee to attend the party, however an RSVP is requested, in order to provide refreshments in proper quantities.
The Skills and Friends Social Club wrapped up the largest Easter Egg Hunt in club history early in April. Therefore, attendance for the Spring Fling is anticipated to be similarly robust, as more and more people are enjoying the activities planned by these committed volunteers.
The Mount Nittany Middle School address is 656 Brandywine Drive, State College, PA (cafeteria entrance located in the rear of the building). Smoking is not permitted anywhere on school property.

BSA programs available for youth
REEDSVILLE -- The Boy Scouts of America provides programs for young men and women, about the essential needs for young people growing up in our society today. Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives. Programs provide mentoring, lifelong learning, faith traditions, serving others, building character, life skills and outdoor skills. Cub Scouts are grades K-5 and Scouts BSA is from 6th grade up until they turn 18 years old.
