MIFFLINTOWN --Todd Graybill and Alice Gray received the Republican nomination for Juniata County commissioner in Tuesday's primary election, according to unofficial results.
Graybill received 2,330 of 5,004 total votes and Gray received 1,961 votes.
Also named on the Republican ballot was Stanley Lee, who election officials said passed away since he announced his candidacy earlier this year.
Mark Partner and Chris Casner received Democratic nominations for Juniata County Commissioner.
According to unofficial results, Partner received 655 of 1,495 votes while Casner received 464 votes.
If elected in November, Graybill will serve his third term as a county commissioner.
He has helped the community to grow by continuing to work with the Juniata County Industrial Development Authority and Juniata Business and Industry in growing the industrial park.
Graybill, who was first elected as commissioner in 2015, has previously worked as a car salesman, a corrections officer and retired from the Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown barracks. Graybill also served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1985 to 1989.
Graybill, who graduated from East Juniata High School, lives with his wife, Monica, in Juniata. They also have two sons.
Gray currently serves as the chair of the Juniata County Board of Commissioners. She was unanimously re-elected to serve another term as chairperson of the Juniata County Board of Commissioners in 2020.
Gray's first successful candidacy in Juniata County came in 2014. Since being in office, Gray has led various human resources initiatives relating to assisting the residents of Juniata County such as Call-A-Ride Service, and in working to maintain COVID-19 relief funding and infrastructure and technology funding for Juniata County.
Magisterial
District Judge
Joshua Imes will appear on the ballot for both Republican and Democratic candidates in the race for Magisterial District Judge 41-3-02.
According to unofficial results, Imes received 1,262 of 1,836 total Republican votes while Matt Lynch received 423, Wiliam Balm received 84 and Linsey Landis received 66 votes.
In the Democratic race, Imes received 395 of 571 total votes. Lynch received 114 votes and Landis received 55 votes.
District 41-3-02 encompasses the Juniata County boroughs of Mifflin and Port Royal and the townships of Lack, Tuscarora, Spruce Hill, Turbett, Beale, Milford and Walker. Current Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline T. Leister has announced her retirement after 36 years on the bench.
Imes has served as a social studies teacher for the past 18 years in the Juniata County School District and studied political science and history at Shippensburg University. He also has a master's degree in education and a doctorate in leadership. A 2000 graduate of Juniata High School, he and wife, Rachel, reside in Milford Township with sons, Jack and Will.
