Police arrest man after attempted traffic stop
LEWISTOWN -- Lewistown Police arrested a man after an attempted traffic stop on Sunday evening on Route 103 North. Police say 31-year-old Shawn Yeater was driving with a suspended license and wanted on an active warrant. After the traffic stop, Yeater fled on foot along the river bank before entering the Juniata River. He swam to the other side where he was arrested and placed in the Mifflin County Correctional facility. Charges include flight to avoid apprehension, evading arrest on foot and driving while operating privilege is suspended.
Man charged with marijuana possession
LEWISTOWN -- Police arrested a man on several counts after an incident on April 18. Lewistown Police officers were called to the Ansal Apartments at 20 S. Main St. for a report of a suspicious person sleeping in the lobby. The individual was identified as 19-year-old Orlando Arroyo. Further investigation revealed Arroyo had an active arrest warrant out of Philadelphia. During a search, he was found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Man arrested after making threats with knife
LEWISTOWN -- Authorities arrested a local man after he made threats with a knife on April 17. According to Lewistown Police, Mark Albright threatened pedestrians in the street near his residence on the 100 block of S. Spruce St. The investigation revealed Albright had threatened to stab nearby residents with a large knife. He was charged with aggravated assault, three counts of simple assault, three counts of making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
Elysburg man involved in one-vehicle crash
TROXELVILLE -- An Elysburg man escaped injury when his vehicle overturned on Route 235 in Adams Township, Snyder County just after noon on Monday. State Police at Selinsgrove say 38-year-old Joseph Mack was the driver of a Peterbilt 999 that traveled off the roadway and overturned. Mack was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
