Dairy Miss promotes Cheese Month with recipe
Hello, my name is Caylee Imes. I am a Juniata County Dairy Miss. Did you know that October is Cheese Month? With over 400 kinds of cheese to choose from, everyone can find one they like. Many aged cheeses like Cheddar and Swiss contain little, if any, lactose, so if you are lactose intolerant, you may still be able to get the benefit of calcium and other nutrients that dairy products provide. One of my favorite ways to eat cheese is grilled cheese. Try these ranch grilled cheese sandwiches.
Ranch grilled cheese
Ingredients:
2 slices of bread per sandwich
Sliced American cheese
Sliced Cheddar cheese
Butter
Ranch Seasoning Powder
Spread 1/2 Tbsp butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Place a skillet over low to medium heat. Add 2 slices of bread with the butter side down.
Sprinkle Ranch Seasoning on the bread.
Layer one slice of American Cheese and one slice of Cheddar Cheese on one of the pieces of bread, cover with the other piece of bread, butter side up.
Continue cooking, flipping once, until both sides are golden brown and cheese is melted.
Make your perfect grilled cheese by trying other kinds of cheese in your sandwich!
