Garden help available at farmers market

MIFFLINTOWN — The “Ask A Master Gardener” booth will be at the Mifflintown Farmers Market in Saturday.

If you have questions on growing and harvesting plants, pests you don’t know how to deal with or are unsure about fertilizing or composting, get your questions answered by two experienced Penn State Master Gardeners.

If you can’t make it to the market, the Ask a Master Gardenerhotline is available from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays until the end of October. Call (717) 248- 9618, email MIfflinMG@psu.edu or stop by the Mifflin or Juniata County extension office and drop off anything troublesome from your lawn or garden that you want identified or researched.

If you’d like to become a Master Gardener, the next class begins Oct. 6 and runs through March 2023. For more information about the Master Gardener basic training class and the on-line application visit https://extension.psu.edu/programs/master-gardener/counties/mifflin or https://extension.psu.edu/programs/master-gardener/counties/juniata.

Questions about the program can be directed to Karen Haas, Master Gardener coordinator for Juniata Valley, at khc106@psu.edu.
