Free COVID testing site returning to Mifflin County

LEWISTOWN — Free COVID-19 testing will again be available this weekend in Mifflin County.

Testing will take place from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday at the Pennsylvania Fire Academy, 1150 Riverside Drive, Lewistown. Saturday hours are still being finalized.

No appointment is necessary and registration is completed on site. Those wishing to be tested are asked to bring a photo ID. Having symptoms or recent exposure to COVID-19 is not required to be tested.

Food pantry distribution slated

MIFFLINTOWN — The Juniata County Food Pantry distributes USDA commodity (TEFAP) foods, PA State Food Purchase Program foods, along with donated foods and other groceries to eligible residents at the Juniata County Food Pantry, 114 N. Main St., Mifflintown, on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, as well as monthly outreach distribution sites in McCoysville and Seven Stars.

To be eligible for this distribution, participants must reside in Juniata County and meet total household income guidelines established by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. Appointments are required.

Monthly luncheon put on hold

LEWISTOWN — The Chief Logan Class of 1958 luncheon, normally held the third Thursday of each month, will be canceled until May 2022.
