"After 23 years as an administrator at the district, we're going to need some big shoes to fill," said Superintendent Vance Varner, who said he hopes to move forward with finding a principal to fill his position as early as February.

Varner said Crosson has expressed interest in substituting for the school district in his retirement.

In related news, Varner said the district is having a difficult time filling teaching positions.

"We have zero applicants and it is frustrating," he said.
