LEWISTOWN -- A 30-year-old man is in Mifflin County Correctional Facility on rape charges after allegedly blocking another man in a room and performing sex acts on him, according to police.
Joseph R. Skinner Jr., of Lewistown, was arraigned Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Reed on two counts of rape, two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, two counts of sexual assault, kidnapping and indecent assault.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a man reported to Lewistown Police that he had been raped by Skinner on Thursday.
He told police that on Wednesday, he met Skinner, who was an acquaintance at his place of employment, on Electric Avenue in Derry Township and told Skinner he needed to vent and stay somewhere else for the night.
Later that day, the report states that Skinner took the accuser to his apartment. At one point, Skinner offered to "crack" the accuser's back and at that time became "touchy-feely," police said.
According to police, Skinner then told the accuser "what happens here, stays here," then eventually followed the accuser into the bedroom, blocked the door, touched him inappropriately and performed sex acts on him.
According to the affidavit, Skinner prevented him from leaving the room for seven hours.
Police said the accuser was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital where he was examined by a sexual assault nurse examiner was able to provide evidence that corroborated with the victim's account.
During an interview with Skinner, police said he appeared "extremely nervous" and exhibited signs of deception.
He was unable to post $250,000 cash bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday.
