Mifflin Co. eclipses 12,500 fully vaccinated

Double-digit COVID cases confirmed for Mifflin, Snyder, Huntingdon Coun

Mifflin County has eclipsed 12,500 people fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to data released Wednesday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

According to the health department, there are now 12,514 people fully vaccinated -- meaning they've received a single-dose vaccine or both doses of a two-dose vaccine -- and another 3,063 partially vaccinated -- meaning they've received one dose of a two-dose vaccine.

Mifflin County had 16 new cases reported Wednesday, but no deaths. Mifflin County's totals are now 5,220 cases and 176 deaths since the pandemic began more than a year ago.

In Juniata County, only three new cases were reported, but Juniata County also had the area's only COVID-related death Wednesday, its 84th so far. There have been 2,077 cases in Juniata County, as well as 5,620 people fully vaccinated and 1,791 partially vaccinated.

Snyder County had 11 new cases and no deaths. There are 9,513 people who have been fully vaccinated and 3,816 people partially vaccinated in Snyder County.

In Huntingdon County, 25 new cases were reported, but the had no new deaths. There have been 4,954 cases and 129 deaths so far. A total of 12,481 people have been fully vaccinated and 2,716 are partially vaccinated.

Perry County had nine new cases and no deaths, for totals of 3,682 cases and 100 deaths. There are 9,860 who have been fully vaccinated and another 8,116 partially vaccinated in Perry County.

In Mifflin County, nine COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized, but none are in the adult intensive care unit or using a ventilator to assist with breathing. There are currently no COVID patients hospitalized in Huntingdon County, according to the health department.
