BELLEVILLE -- A van carrying at least one student was in a “serious traffic accident” Monday morning along state Route 655, according to the Mifflin County School District.
The district said in a brief statement that one charter school student was on the bus who was released to the student’s parents.
The statement did not specify where along state Route 655 the accident occurred, but an accident with entrapment was reported at around 7 a.m. near the Brookmere Winery near Belleville in Union Township. Medical helicopters were requested by first responders on scene, but none reported being able to fly at that time due to weather conditions.
