Ellen L. Amspacker of Lewistown (Granville Township) has announced her candidacy for the office of Mifflin County Register and Recorder.
Ellen Amspacker is currently serving her 11th year in the office of Register and Recorder. For more than nine years she has served as 1st Deputy.
Chief among Amspacker' s work responsibilities are the issuance of marriage licenses, recording of deeds, mortgages and power of attorneys, satisfaction of mortgages, registering of wills, filing of adoption records and filing of guardianships, amongst others responsibilities.
"It has been extremely rewarding to meet and interact with the people that come to the Register and Recorders office. Even greater satisfaction comes from the knowledge that you are helping people that have a specific need, issue or problem.
"Currently, much of the public has a mistrust of government at the federal, state and local levels. Many people believe that the government is unresponsive. By working with people one on one, I am not only able to fulfill their needs but rebuild their trust in government".
Ellen Amspacker is the wife of Dale Amspacker. They are the proud parents of 3 sons, Aaron (and wife Jillian), Avery and Ashton, and grandparents of Gabriel, Owen, Adalyn and Charlotte.
In addition to her experience in the Register and Recorders office, Ellen is a member of the Mifflin County Garden Club. She also has been active in youth and children's ministry programs.
Ellen's passions are gardening and cooking, creating special dishes and spending time together with family and friends.
Ellen Is a lifelong resident of Mifflin County and would appreciate your vote in the May 18th primary.
