Dear Parents/Guardians:

This morning, we received notice that a second individual has tested positive for COVID-19 at Strodes Mills Elementary School.

The recommendation from the PA DOH is for small schools, such as the size of SMES, is to close temporarily once the school has 2 or more students/staff test positive.

Strodes Mills Elementary School will be closed on Monday, Feb 1. through Wednesday, Feb 3. The tentative plan is to have SMES reopen for in-person instruction on Thursday, Feb. 4.During this closure, SMES will receive extra cleaning as per CDC and DOH guidelines.

For Monday through Wednesday of next week, SMES teachers will execute a full-remote learning plan, which will include synchronous live sessions for students that may be accessed via Class Dojo.

We will continue to do our best to keep parents/guardians informed as we work through this situation together.

Sincerety,

Vance S. Varner

Chief Operations Officer

Starting at /week.
