Allensville Planing Mill plans to rebuild manufacturing plant

ALLENSVILLE -- Allensville Planing Mill is planning on rebuilding the manufacturing plant that burned down on Dec. 29. The details of this plan are under deliberation and will be shared with the public when finalized.

APM said in a statement it continues to be deeply grateful for the ways in which the community reached out.

"We find stregnth to move forward into the future through these demonstrations of support. Examples of this are notes in the mail, vendors who go above and beyond to make sure we recieve an order, kind offers of help from those we know well and even those we don't know, and many other beautiful acts of kindess. We have been encouraged by these moments of light during a dark time," the statement said.

APM is continuing to move forward with truss and wall panel sales and is coverting space in Allensville to be able to begin building wall panels. Several manufacturing employees were able to come back to work for this. The company is looking at several off-site locations to rent so the rest of the manufacturing employees can come back to work.

"APM employees continue to be the greatest asset of the company; showing themselves strong in recovery from this challenging situation," the company said.

The APM manufacturing plant burned down on Dec. 29. The first report of the fire was at approximately 9 p.m. The large fire destroyed the building, however the cause of the fire is unknown at this point and is still under investigation by the fire marshall.

None of APM's Home Centers were affected by the fire. They are open and operating with normal business hours.
