BELLEVILLE--Details have been released after an investigation into the crash involving a truck and horse and buggy on Route 655 between Belleville and Allensville Sunday night.
According to a report from Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown, at approximately 8:35 p.m., a Ford truck and a horse and buggy, were traveling North Route 655. Due to the dark and rainy conditions, the operator of the truck, Damien J. Robinson, 23, of Reedsville and a 17 year old female from Mill Creek were traveling at an excessive rate of speed and did not see the horse and buggy on the road.
The truck struck the back of the buggy and lost control, striking a telephone pole and coming got rest in a field on the right side of the roadway. The buggy contained six occupants, Martha S. Peachey, 26, a male, a 4-year-old male, a year-old female, an infant male and a 3 year old male, all of Belleville, sustained life threatening injuries and were all transported by EMS personnel. The two occupants of the truck sustained minor injuries and refused transport. Allensville, Belleville, Big Valley, McVeytown, Milroy and FAME emergency services assisted on scene
