LEWISTOWN -- A brief Monday morning power outage in Granville Township and Lewistown Borough was caused by a squirrel getting into the electrical equipment at the top of a utility pole, according to Penelec spokesman Todd Meyers.
Meyers said approximately 765 customers were affected by the outage that began at 9:43 a.m. and the power was fully restored by 10:30 a.m. Meyers said a squirrel had climbed a pole near the intersection of Industrial Park Road and U.S. 22 Business and gotten into the electrical equipment.
Meyers said animal protection gear was put in place to avoid another animal doing the same.
