BELLEVILLE -- Mark Peachey has worked in masonry for 16 years.
Peachey runs DryHouse Stoneworks, along with sales manager Rodney Yoder, which offers services including dry stack construction, natural stone masonry and natural stone veneer.
He recently constructed a showroom to enable potential buyers to see the quality of his product first-hand.
"It's the same price as product from a manufacturer, but this is all natural," Peachey said.
He explained that stone sold by manufacturers is often just painted concrete.
"This is affordable because it's all done in-house," Yoder said.
DryHouse Stoneworks receives stone from quarries in central Pennsylvania. Then, they use an on-site saw to cut the stone into neat, even pieces. Finally, the stone is either shipped to a job site or installed by Peachey.
"We know exactly what we are doing here," Peachey said. "All the stone is cut by masons."
Yoder said manufacturers that cut stone aren't equipped with knowledge of the finer details of masonry, placing DryHouse Stoneworks' product in a higher caliber.
Installation is available for custom veneer.
DryHouse Stoneworks uses the dry stack construction method, which uses interlocking stones and strategic arrangements to create a sturdy structure.
Peachey said their stone is shipped to places such as Wisconsin, New York and Canada. The stone can be shipped anywhere via FedEx.
