Evelyn Snook, Lewistown

Evelyn Snook (left), celebrated her 100th birthday on Jan. 17. Evelyn’s life is a testament to resilience. She has outlived her two children, her siblings and two husbands. Today, she proudly celebrates life with three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Sen. Judy Ward presented Evelyn with an official citation honoring her life and contributions.

Born and raised in McVeytown, Mifflin County, Evelyn often heard stories about the snowy winter day she arrived back in 1926. Throughout her adult life, she worked at several local businesses. She also dedicated time to raising her children, balancing work and family.
