Lack and Tuscarora Townships

Lack Tuscarora EMS will host the first Christmas Decorating Contest for Lack and Tuscarora townships.

Categories are: Religious; Nostalgic (most old fashioned); Clark Griswold (excessive use of outdoor lighting); Neat as a Pin (crisp, tidy and orderly); Charlie Browniest (decorations on dog houses, outdoor sheds, barns, etc.); Martha Stewart (crafty, clever and creative); Best Overall Award (will be chosen from all categories).

Contest is open to all residents of Lack and Tuscarora townships

Entry forms can be picked up at LTEMS Station, Longs Store, Henry’s Garage, bank, post office, Waterford Diner and Dotterer’s Equipment starting on Saturday.

Contestants should complete the entry form and return to Lack-Tuscarora EMS by Dec. 4. Judging will take place the evening of Dec. 8, with homes being judged by curbside appeal only.

Winners will receive a ribbon and bragging rights. Prizes will be announced on social media, newspapers, and displayed at LTEMS station.

Lewistown

This year's theme for the Mifflin County Garden Club's annual Christmas Decorating Contest for Lewistown residents will be "Snow Crystals."

Judging will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 6.

The best overall design will be awarded the Helen Buffington Award, which comes with a $100 prize. Judges will also award first, second and third prize ribbons for the best door wreath that follows this year's decorating theme.

Participants must send a brief e-mail to sara@buffington.tv with the address to be judged and name(s) of those participating. Porch lights must be on at the time of judging.

Reedsville

The Reedsville Community Association is hosting a Christmas door decorating contest for residents of Brown Township.

The theme for this year is "Peace on Earth."

Judging will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 9. Residents must register their homes for judging in advance by emailing Jo Ann Smith, jolovesponds58@gmail.com or calling (717) 667-2390. Winners will be announced on Dec. 10 at the Reedsville Christmas tree lighting event from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brown's Mill Square.
