LEWISTOWN -- Do you have Medicare? Are you new to Medicare?
Do you have questions about your coverage or current plan? Do you want to know if you are eligible to save some money?
The APPRISE Program wants to make sure Medicare recipients and their loved ones know about the Extra Help and Medicare Savings Programs. APPRISE is a free health insurance counseling program designed to help all Pennsylvanians with Medicare.
Certified APPRISE counselors from the Mifflin-Juniata Area Agency on Aging will be at the Ice Cream Festival at Faith United Methodist Church in East Waterford from 4 to 8 p.m. on July 8 to provide information on Medicare and Extra Savings Programs.
Extra Help Programs can help lower prescription co-payments and premiums and cover the coverage gaps. Medicare Savings Programs can assist with payment of Medicare Part premiums and possibly with payment of Medicare Part A and Part B cost-sharing. APPRISE program staff can also assist with Medicare Prescription Drug Plans, Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, Plan Comparison, Medicare Appeals, Medicaid and screening and applying for financial assistance programs as well as Long Term Care Insurance.
APPRISE is a free, public program of the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. Purpose of the program is to offer unbiased advice. The program does not sell or endorse any specific plans or products. There is no cost for APPRISE Program assistance or enrollment into specific Medicare plans.

≤ July 26 --Noon-1:30 p.m., First United Methodist Church, Lewistown on.
APPRISE counselors will also be at the following grocery stores on the following dates to provide assistance:
¯ Aug. 8 -- 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; Sharp Shopper, Belleville;
¯ Aug. 25 -- 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Weis, Mifflintown;
¯ Sept. 1 -- 8:30 a.m.-noon, Weis, Burnham.
