Trio of tenors coming to the local stage

LEWISTOWN -- Tenore will take the stage on Wednesday for the final concert in the 2016-17 Mifflin-Juniata Community Concert Association season.
The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Mifflin County High School. The doors will open at 7 p.m.
Single tickets for this performance will be available at the door on the night of the performance for $25.
Who doesn't love a trio of tenors? Founded by the same person who promoted the platinum-selling Canadian Tenors, these three charismatic, passionate, talented singers unleash glorious sounds that celebrate a wide range of music. As solo acts, each shines brightly; together, they are luminous as they bring to the audience beloved tunes that everyone knows and can enjoy.
The Mifflin-Juniata Community Concert Association has been presenting internationally acclaimed artists to the community for more than 50 years. The all-volunteer organization is committed to enriching the cultural life of the Juniata Valley through live performances.
During the concert season, if school is cancelled or there is an early dismissal due to weather conditions on concert day, the concert will not be held, but will be rescheduled.
The membership campaign for the 2017-18 series continues through May 5. The 2017-18 schedule includes:
¯ Sept. 18 --The Four Freshmen. Singing with a harmony uniquely their own, the Four Freshmen pour pure energy, talent and amazing sounds into great songs from the past and present. Their tight-knit singing style, meticulously maintained from the original performers, has enamored listeners world wide for years with songs like "Day by Day," "Moonglow," and "Girl From Ipanema."
¯ Oct. 10 --ABBA Fabulous. The most entertaining ABBA tribute on the market today features a seven-piece band and musicians. This show will bring a record-breaking string of hits to the auditorium. Originally from Sweden, ABBA swept the world with their music in the 1970s with songs like "Waterloo," "Mama Mia" and "Dancing Queen."
¯ Dec. 7 --American Big Band Home for the Holidays. Get in the holiday spirit with an 11-piece band, along with six singers/dancers, who fill the stage with colorful costumes and lush arrangements of holiday favorites. Performing winter classics from Bing Crosby to Michael Buble, Home for the Holidays is a fun show that's bound to get even a Scrooge's toe tapping.
¯ March 20, 2018 --The Jive Aces. Britain's "Got Talent" stars, the seven Jive Aces, are the UK's No. 1 jive and swing band, according to Simon Cowell. Renown for their high energy jump jive and swing music, the band has a repertoire that stretches from tunes of the swing era to the glitz of the Rat Pack, with a dash of rhythm and blues. Famous for their show-stopping versions of Jungle Book favorites, "I Wanna Be Like You," and "Bare Necessities," their recent hit, "Bring Me Sunshine," has gone viral.
¯ May 7, 2018 -- A soprano, a baritone and a virtuoso pianist/violinist (yes, he plays the violin and the piano at the same time), O Sole Trio's show is all about love. It features timeless love songs cherished by all generations, with a program that introduces new arrangements of songs from pop, classical and musical theater, such as "Unchained Melody," "All I Ask of You," "O Sole Mio" and "Send in the Clowns."
