Reedsville Community Day set for June 11 at Bender Park

REEDSVILLE -Reedsville Community Day kicks off with townwide yard sales on June 10 and 11 in Brown Township, leading into a full day of events on June 11 at Bender Park, just off Tony Street, Reedsville.

Events include:

6:30 a.m. -Breakfast in the Park by the Evangelic Lutheran Church members in the north pavilion;

9 a.m. – Juniata Striders 5K race, with awards at 10 a.m.;

11 a.m. – Pickle eating contest;

Noon -Pie eating contest at noon;

1 p.m. -Free community giant ice cream sundae;

2 p.m. -Little Miss Reedsville contest;

3 p.m. -Community Pet Show

Several area church youth groups will provide kids games, and there will be lots of food and a park full of craft vendors.

Applications for Little Miss Reedsville are available at Kathryn & Company Florist, Main Street, Reedsville. Contestants must be 5 to 10 years old and a resident of Brown Township or have a Reedsville address. For more information, call Cindy Bratton, coordinator, at 994-8116.
