LEWISTOWN -The Embassy Theatre’s All Day Libertyfest will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday in downtown Lewistown.
Festivities kick off Friday evening, with the annual Lewistown Community Band’s Let Freedom Ring concert. The show begins at 7 p.m. in front of the theatre.
Those attending are asked to leave pets at home, and bring folding chairs.
On Saturday, there will be live music, featuring the following bands:
Junkhouse with Brent Carolus, Brad Slemons, Jeremiah Shafer and Bobby Frye;
Relic Hearts with Aaron Bossinger, John Baker, Nick Walters, Scott Alexander and Dirk Taylor;
JMP Funk with Joey Martin, Nic Ciccolini, Tim Guthridge and Joe Rocco;
Our Boy Elroy with Adam Becker, Jon Hornbaker and Mike Spurlock;
The Remnants with Dan Berrier, Greg Shehan, Steve Welshonse, Ken Haubert and Tisha Haubert.
This year’s event will also feature a cruise-in from 3 to 8 p.m., which may turn into a stand alone event in the future.
Anyone interested in showing should preregister, as space is limited to about 25 cars. Forms are available at the theatre, on the Embassy’s Facebook page, or available by calling the promotions coordinator at 348-0185.
In addition to free live music and the cruise-in, other activities will include:
Food, including the Embassy funnel cake stand;
Night time movies, including the short film “Hellwalk,” that was filmed in The Embassy;
Dancing;
Hot dog eating contest with a $50 first place prize;
Radio personality Maddie B. as the emcee;
Lewistown’s Fourth of July fireworks starting at 9:30 p.m.

12:15 p.m. – Margaret McCann Dance Troupe;
1 p.m. – Relic Hearts;
2 p.m. – JMP Funk;
3-8 p.m. – Cruise in on lower South Main Street;
4 p.m. – Zumba dancing;
4:30 p.m. – The Remnants;
6 p.m. – Junkhouse;
8 p.m. – River Valley Idol finals in the Juniata Valley Bank parking lot on Monument Square;
9:15 p.m. – Laskaris Hot Dog Eating Contest;
9:30 p.m. – Fireworks; free movies on the wall.
