PORT ROYAL – The Big Tree Music and Arts Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 9 at the Lions Club Park in Port Royal.
Organizers are accepting applications for the art display. This year, artists will have the opportunity to sell their artwork on display, and there will a “People’s Choice” competition with monetary prizes.
Artists who are interested in displaying their work must submit an application by July 2. This to ensure that there is enough display space available and can plan accordingly.
Up to two pieces of art work can be submitted. Depending on size and the number of artists who apply, there may be restrictions on the number of pieces to one per artist. Artists will be contacted if this is the case.
Artwork may be delivered from 3 to 9 p.m. on July 8 and from 8 to 10 a.m. on July 9. Anyone who is unable to bring artwork during those times may call Tessa Gross at (814) 826-4127 to make other arrangements.
All artwork must be removed after 8 p.m. on July 9, or between 9 a.m. and noon on July 10.
All artwork must be framed and ready to hang. If the piece is sculptural or alternative (cannot be framed), make arrangements with Gross ahead of time. This is an outdoor event. The artwork will be hung on panels that will be displayed in one of the pavilions on site, and will be monitored by volunteers.
