LEWISTOWN – Presidio Brass will take the stage on Tuesday in the next 2015-16 Mifflin-Juniata Community Concert Association show.
The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Mifflin County High School. The doors will open at 7 p.m.
Single tickets for this performance will be available at the door on the night of the performance for $25.
In addition, the concert association is sponsoring a student outreach performance by the Presidio Brass as part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to support arts education in the community. On the morning of the concert, the group will present a 45-minute outroach master class with Art Belfiore’s brass students at Mifflin County High School.
In the evening performance, the five-member Presidio Brass will present “Sounds of the Cinema,” a show of Hollywood’s greatest hits.
Since forming in 2006, Presidio Brass has rocketed to success as the face of a bold new generation in brass entertainment.
By combining a brass quintet, piano and percussion instruments with fresh, original arrangements, their unique sound has become a trademark for the ensemble and has captivated audiences everywhere.
Inspired by the dedication of their school music teachers, Presidio Brass came together with the primary mission to promote music education and music appreciation in youngsters.
Members of the Presidio Brass have performed with major symphony orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony and San Diego Symphony, and have shared the stage with commercial and pop artists that include Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, Quincy Jones and more.
The group has released four recordings: “Stolen Moments,” a collection of popular classical and jazz selections; “Christmas Day,” an assortment of well-loved holiday favorites; “Sounds of the Cinema,” which includes pieces from their signature stage performance of the same name; and their newest release, “Rhapsody in Brass,” featuring popular American music influenced by classical and jazz idioms.

- April 11-The Young Irelanders – Featuring former members of Riverdance and Lords of the Dance, this eight member Irish music, song and dance troupe uses authentic Celtic instruments to fuse an eclectic repertoire of world music with jazz, country and popular music. Just in their 20s and 30s, these performers have achieved more than most people aspire to in a lifetime, having performed for six heads of state, including U.S. presidents and the Queen of England, and in major music halls throughout the world.
- May 5- Vivace -Vivace is Canada’s biggest classical-pop group to emerge since the Canadian tenors. With a wonderful program featuring the music of great composers such as Puccini, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gershwin, and singing artists such as Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Elvis Presley and Andrea Bocelli, these four vocalists (two male and two female) create a rich and exciting sound that is exclusively their own.
The Mifflin-Juniata Community Concert Association has been presenting internationally acclaimed artists to the community for more than 50 years. The all-volunteer organization is committed to enriching the cultural life of the Juniata Valley through live performances.
During the concert season, if school is cancelled or there is an early dismissal due to weather conditions on concert day, the concert will not be held, but will be rescheduled.
