NEWPORT – The Perry County Council of the Arts offers a variety of classes and workshops, including jewelry making and writing.

Upcoming events include:
- April 2 -Drop-in Art Class, 1 to 4 p.m. at the Landis House;
- April 9 -Writing Workshop, A Novel Idea, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Landis House;
- April 13-May 13 -Introduction to Carving Soapstone, 6 p.m. at Landis House;
- April 16 – Writing Workshop: So You Want To Be A Writer class, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Landis House;
- April 27 -Soldered Cross Bracelet Class, 6 to 8 pm. at Landis House.
The council’s mission is to build community through the arts. The council supports artists and celebrates their successes, nurtures the creative spirit in adults and children, enhances the local economy, and implements art education initiatives in seven counties.
The PCCA Gallery is located at 1 S. Second St., Newport. The Landis House is located at 67 N. Fourth St., Newport.
