LEWISTOWN – The Stone Arch Players have announced that they will once again hold a theatre camp for children ages 6 to 12 years old.
The camp will be held from June 6 to 10, culminating in a performance at the Theater-in-the-Park, Kish Park, home of the Stone Arch Players.
This year, instead of two smaller sessions, there will be one larger session, from 9 a.m.to noon.
The children will become involved with comedy, acting, singing and dancing, as well as staging and scenery design and development.
The program will culminate in a public performance on the last day of camp.
Later this summer the Stone Arch Players will hold a full production for teens from age 13 to 18. Teens will learn the fundamentals of theatre including tech, costuming, stage management and acting, while participating in a full-blown summer production. Auditions for the teen play will take place at the Theatre-in-the -Park later this spring, on a date yet to be determined.
Julie Ufema, acting as camp director, will be supported by the many Stone Arch Players and patrons who have volunteered to help with the summer camp. Phyllis Johnson will direct the teen summer production.
Applications for the children’s camp will be available online on Monday, and spots will be filled on a first come first served basis. Session fee is $30 per child.
