Local couple opens new gaming shop

LEWISTOWN -- The husband and wife duo of Lyndsey and Andy Hagerty along with several knowledgeable staff are looking to build something special for the people of Mifflin County through spiritual healing, as well as a fun and safe place for gaming, with their business called Moon Dragon.
The couple originally got their start back in 2016 as they were known as Metaphysics. From then on, the Hagertys slowly but surely worked their way up to where they are now with Moon Dragon, which is located on 25 W. Market St. across from the Miller Theater.
"Our inspiration to build this store is, we have a love for the Metaphysical, but we also have a love for gaming," Moon Dragon co-owner Andy Hagerty said. "Many of our friends have the same interests and we thought, 'Hey, why not open a gaming and metaphysical shop?' We took our metaphysic space and turned it into Moon Dragon. That allowed us to carry a larger selection and we were able to move to a larger space."
Much like what they had done in years past, Moon Dragon will continue to provide people with spiritual healing and guidance with items like crystals, herbs, and more. But with the new expanded building, the Hagertys want to create a place where people can feel safe and have some fun playing tabletop RPGs (roleplaying games) and get to meet new people.
"We hope to bring to Lewistown a community. We build a community around a metaphysic community and we want to build it around the gaming community," Hagerty said. "We're going to have a series of classes; we're going to have a series of events where we're going to be teaching stuff. We're currently building a retail space, we're going to be building a gaming space which is going to be about 3,000 square feet of open gaming for people to just come in, meet new friends, play games, hangout and have a good time."
Both Lyndsey and Andy invite anyone who wishes to find a place to feel at peace to check out their shop. Their ultimate goal is provide a safe place for people to come together, meet new people, have some fun playing games and more importantly, grow spiritually.
"Come on and play games; we want to build a community," Hagerty said. "We want to be your local game store. We want to be your local Metaphysical shop. We want you to come and just enjoy yourself and learn and have fun."
