Kish, Giv Local community gifting partnership benefits the Juniata Valley YMCA

2 min read

BURNHAM--The Juniata Valley YMCA recently received funds as a result of Lewistown Paper Company's participation in Kish and Giv Local's community gifting program. Representatives from Kish Bank, Giv Local, and Lewistown Paper Company presented the YMCA branch with a check to celebrate the inaugural donation from the program.

Kish and Giv Local's community gifting partnership, which launched in 2020, gives Kish Bank business customers the opportunity to "gift back" to local nonprofits of their choosing at no extra cost. By using Kish Bank's debit and credit card processing services, powered by Giv Local's payment solutions, a portion of the business's card processing fees is donated annually to a local nonprofit of the business's choosing. Lewistown Paper Company, a Kish Bank business customer, selected the Juniata Valley YMCA to receive its donations.

"We have had a relationship with the YMCA for many years, and they're a very good cause for the community," said Todd Elsesser, Vice President of Lewistown Paper Company. "Being able to support such a good local organization through Kish and Giv Local's program is a win-win for us."

John McCullough, Executive Director of the Juniata Valley YMCA, expressed the YMCA's gratitude for the program. "We were thrilled to find out that Lewistown Paper had chosen us as the recipient of their benefits," said McCullough. "We are very appreciative that they see us as important to the community, because that's what we do--we do community."

As a community staple for more than 100 years, the Juniata Valley YMCA provides health, fitness, and sports opportunities for all ages and ensures that all portions of the community are represented, regardless of age, income, or background. Donations to the YMCA fund life-changing programs that help thousands of children, adults, and families throughout the region.

Kish and Giv Local's partnership emerged from the shared belief that in order for communities to drive real social change, there must be dedicated businesses, individuals, and organizations working toward making a collective impact. Kish and Giv Local look forward to witnessing this impact to more local nonprofits as participation in the program continues to grow.
