HUNTINGDON -- Cassidy Bumbaugh-Lucas has joined Penn State Extension as the new County Extension Agent for Huntingdon and Mifflin Counties. Born and raised in Huntingdon County, she has a deep-rooted appreciation for the local agricultural community. Bumbaugh-Lucas graduated in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science and a minor in Biology from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Her journey with Penn State began in 2024, where she worked with the university's corn, soybean and small-grain variety trials program. While her primary expertise is in livestock production, including reproduction, small ruminants, cattle and swine, she also has a strong background in agronomy.

As an extension agent, her mission is to bridge the gap between university research and local farms. She is deeply committed to ensuring that all producers have access to the most current, science-based solutions to support their operations. Bumbaugh-Lucas will be providing expertise in Huntingdon and Mifflin Counties. She will be available to assist producers raising livestock, row crops, vegetable crops or any specialized agricultural operation. She has access to the Penn State Extension network and can connect producers with the specialists who can provide the precise expertise they need. Bumbaugh-Lucas looks forward to working closely with local farmers to address the unique challenges and opportunities within the region. She encourages producers to reach out, share what they are working on and suggest areas where additional education or support would be helpful.

Bumbaugh-Lucas can be contacted at (814) 205-2417 or crb5944@psu.edu. The office is located at 10722 Fairgrounds Rd. No. 6,
