2025 Snyder County tree sale underway

MIDDLEBURG — The Snyder County Conservation District is currently holding its annual seedling and plant sale. All proceeds from the seedling sale go directly to educational outreach programs such as trout in the classroom activities, 2nd and 5th grade school events, outdoor education, Snyder- Juniata Enviro Camp, and the Susquehanna Valley Envirothon.

Seedlings sold in bundles of ten offered this year include: Norway Spruce, Eastern White Pine, American Persimmon, Red Oak, American Hazelnut, Silver Maple, Chinese Chestnut, Domestic Apple, Common Pear and Black Elderberry. Fruit Trees offered are Honey Crisp Apple, Starfire Peach and Berkley Blueberries. Also, offered this year is a special blended Deer Plot Mix and Wildflower Seed Mix suited for pollinators of all types. Also available are bluebird boxes (constructed by SUN Vo-Tech), soil test kits and two foot and five foot tree tube protection.

For order forms and plant descriptions please call (570) 837-3000 ext. 0 or check the conservation district Facebook page and website at www.snyderconservation.org and select tree, seed and plant orders due under upcoming events. Orders will be taken until March 31, 2025. Pickup of nursery stock will be held at the conservation district office on Wednesday, April 16 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, April 17 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The district office is located at 10541 Route 522, Middleburg.
