MIDDLEBURG -- The Snyder County Conservation District will be holding its annual seedling and plant sale. All proceeds from the seedling sale provide funds for our educational outreach programs. Seedlings offered this year include: Norway Spruce, Eastern White Pine, American Persimmon, White Oak, American Hazelnut, American Beech, Chinese Chestnut, Domestic Apple, Northern Pecan and Winterberry. Fruit Trees offered are Shizuka Apple, and July Prince – Peach.
Concord grape vines and Berkley Blueberry bushes are also being offered. Also offered this year is a special blended Deer Plot Mix and Wildflower Seed in Mix suited for pollinators of all types.
The Conservation District is also selling bluebird boxes (constructed by SUN Vo-Tech), soil test kits and 2-foot or 5-foot tree tubes. Orders will be taken until April 1, 2024. Pickup of nursery stock will be held at the Conservation District office on Wednesday, April 24 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, April 25 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The district office is located at 10541 Route 522 in Middleburg.
