The Sentinel once again invited couples who were married in the most recent calendar year to submit a wedding photo for our Juniata Valley Brides magazine cover contest. Readers are then invited to vote for their favorite photo, and this year’s winner was the photo submitted by Taylor and Eric Johnson of Mifflintown. Their photo is featured on this year’s cover and they won a “His and Hers” gift card prize of $50 each to Lowes and Hobby Lobby. Eric and Taylor first met at the Port Royal Speedway in 2013. They got engaged in 2017 and got married on October 25, 2025 at Birch Hill Events in Burnham. The couple says that “it was worth the wait. It was a perfect day and we were so glad to spend it with all of our friends and family.”

The Johnson’s wedding day was long-awaited, so it was very special for both of them. One of the things that made their day extra special was including their beloved dog, Fynn, in the ceremony. Fynn was with the girls in the morning when they were getting ready and they also had him get pictures with the couple before the ceremony. They felt this was only natural since Fynn is their best friend.

They also did a “love lock” unity ceremony within the wedding ceremony. The couple now has the sign we for this hanging in their home to remind them every day of their special day. At the reception, the newly married couple’s first dance was to “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Of course, their wedding party enjoyed getting to be part of the couple’s treasured day. Groomsmen were Kody Johnson, Austin Hutchinson, Jeffery Burdge, and Fred Burdge. Bridesmaids were Chloe Beckenbaugh, Payton Beckenbaugh, Maddie Shreffler, and Megan Bustin.
