Bree Carolyn Shugarts, of Lewistown, and Taro Shigenobu, of Ridgewood, New Jersey, were married on July 11, 2015, at Grace United Methodist Church in Lewistown.
The bride is the daughter of Doug and Barbara Shugarts, of Lewistown. The groom is the son of Hideki and Martha Shigenobu, of Ridgewood, New Jersey.
Rachel Dabiero, of Raleigh, North Carolina, cousin of the bride, was the maid of honor.
The best man was Kazu Shigenobu, of Ridgewood, New Jersey, brother of the groom.
Bridesmaids were: Elaine Kuckertz, of Houston, Texas; Jillian Keefer, of Lewistown; Angela Rugino, of Chicago, Illinois; Roxanne Garrett, of Yeagertown; and Hanako Shigenobu, of Ridgewood, New Jersey, sister of the groom.
The flower girls were: Allyson Ritter, of Clearwater, Florida, cousin of the bride; Alexis Clark, of Phillipsburg, cousin of the bride; and Ashlyn Thompson, of Howard, cousin of the bride.
Ushers were: Noah Hoh, of Ridgewood, New Jersey; Matthew LaForgia, of Hoboken, New Jersey; Michael Biezard, of Midland Park, New Jersey; Andrew Fine, of Ridgewood, New Jersey; and Ross Geiger, of Boston, Massachusetts.
The ring bearer was Thomas Beaven, of Portland, Oregon, cousin of the groom.
The Rev. Jarrod Lynn, of Providence, Rhode Island, performed the ceremony that also included: Sarah Hoover, pianist; Nate Shugarts, Lauren Dabiero, Jillian Keefer and Dan DeLotto, vocalists; scripture readings by Michelle Dabiero, Holleigh Bergstrom and Sthefany Alvair.
A reception followed at Laurel Rock Farm, Mifflintown.
The bride is a 2009 graduate of Indian Valley High School, and a 2013 graduate of Brown University. She is employed as a teacher at Henderson Collegiate High School in Henderson, North Carolina.
The groom is a 2009 graduate of Ridgewood High School, and a 2013 graduate of Brown University. He is employed as a teacher at Henderson Collegiate High School in Henderson, North Carolina.
Following a wedding trip to Japan, they live in Wake Forrest, North Carolina.
