At Pets Come First, October is our favorite time of year. Great weather, beautiful fall foliage and most importantly, Purr Pumpkins Fest is back. It is that time of year when we are waiving adoption fees for all of our cats, kittens, rabbits and guinea pigs. Find your new best friend on our website or our social media (Facebook, Instagram) or stop in on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. to see all our available animals.
Our Subaru raffle is also still on. Tickets for our annual Subaru giveaway are on sale now. You can win $20,000 or a new Subaru Crosstrek. You can buy tickets at Stocker Subaru, Wiscoy for Pets and The Pet Pub in State College, Maria's Italian Restaurant in Bellefonte and Lerch RV in Milroy. The drawing will be held at Stocker Subaru in State College on Wednesday Oct. 14. For more information, go to our website and click on News.
Meet the animals looking for a home in October
Pets Come First has so many animals that need a loving home right now. If you are looking for a new companion, we can find the right one for you.
Dogs available for adoption
Shadow
Shadow is searching high and low for a loving home. He is an older gentleman who adores time with his people and will quickly claim you as a friend. We are featuring him again this month because he is so sweet and we know he would make a great pal for anyone. He absolutely loves people and has done well with the other dogs at the shelter. When the dog walking volunteers come to the shelter, they all want to be the one to walk him. He is an angel.
Zambelli
Zambelli is so ready to find her family, and she really isn't asking for much. This girl is loving and just wants to be with a person. She is so young, it breaks our hearts to see her spending time in a shelter. She has lots of energy and would be a great companion for someone who likes to hike or has a place for her to play fetch. Zambi is affectionate, fun and when she is done playing, she is a couch potato. Zambi makes the sweetest little chirping noises when she wants attention, then when you look at her, she tilts her head to the side and puts one ear in the air. She is so happy to just have someone to talk to. She wants to be so close, she will literally sit on your feet to be near you. She also will sit on laps if you give her the chance.
Stitch
Our dorky little guy Stitch is just a year-and-a-half old. He is absolutely adorable. This is not a dog who wants to walk for hours on end. Stitch tends to like to wander around, sniff and then hang out by your side. He loves treats and cuddles.
Sonic
Sonic is a 10-month-old German Shephard mix. He is a medium sized dog, about 45 pounds, who has grown into a very lovable guy. He has puppy energy and needs training, which we have been working on. He would do best in a home with people who love to be outside and exercise.
Cats available for adoption
We have dozens of cats just waiting for a new home. They are available for adoption with no fee during the month of October.
