Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology October -- Students of the Month
Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology has announced the October Students of the Month. Student of the Month criteria includes grades, attendance, involvement in activities, behavior and exhibition of the twelve traits of character. The faculty at the Academy recognizes the students for excelling in each of these areas.
Lane Ruth
(12th Grade, Mifflin County High School, Culinary Arts Program)
Lane is a senior in the Culinary Arts program who has consistently demonstrated the qualities of a dependable and hardworking student. One of Lane's greatest strengths is his flexibility. Whether he is asked to take on a new responsibility, help with a different task, or adapt to the needs of the kitchen, Lane is always willing to step up and get the job done.
Lane also deserves recognition for his excellent attendance record and, perhaps most importantly, his strong work ethic. He comes to class ready to work, stays focused on the task at hand and consistently puts forth the effort needed to be successful.
As a senior, Lane has become a valuable member of our Culinary Arts program, and his reliability and willingness to work hard are qualities that will serve him well beyond high school.
Danica Marker
(11th Grade, East Juniata High School, Early Childhood Education Program)
Dani has shown so much growth over the last year in ECE. She is dedicated to strengthening her skills as an early childhood educator. She takes the time to volunteer for any opportunity presented. She consistently participates in class and gives meaningful feedback in conversations. She is also adored by both students and teachers in the PreK room. Her eagerness to learn is contagious.
Janessa Collins
(10th Grade, Mifflin County High School, Health Professions Program)
Janessa has been doing an outstanding job as a first-year student in Health Professions. She is consistently on task and dedicated to her studies. Janessa is polite, respectful and kind to her peers. She has been excelling in all of her hands-on skills and recently earned a perfect score on a unit test. Excellent work.
