Richard and Shirley Miller, of Strodes Mills, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Sunday, June 14, 2020.

They were honored by their children at a picnic held June 13 in Millersburg. The couple were married June 14, 1955, at Alameda Naval Air Station in California during Richard’s Navy service. Matron of Honor was Shirley’s mother, Alice Smith. Best Man was Bill Ashburn of Huntsville, Ala., who, along with wife, Shirley, have hosted several visits by the Miller family and remain in contact.

Richard and Shirley attribute their years of happiness to working together, patience and trusting in God in all things, and church and family activities.
