Ruth and William C. Clouser Sr., recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married on Oct. 9, 1965, at St. John’s Ridge Church, McClure, by the Rev. Elden E. Ehrhart.

They celebrated their anniversary by renewing their vows at Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church, with Pastor Carola Beasley-Topliffe. They are active members at Rhodes.

Following the service, the couple enjoyed a party with their family at Harshbarger’s Restaurant in Port Royal. They are the parents of three children, Charlane D. Geedey, William C. Clouser Jr. and Jeffrey L. Clouser.

They have two grandchildren, Amber L. Whitesel and Hunter S. Geedey, and one great-grandson, Finley William Whitesel.

William retired from Standard Steel in 2008, and served in the U.S. Army. Ruth is a homemaker.

They attribute the success of their marriage to faith, love, respect and always sharing and doing things together.
