My son has been pouting about a life jacket for two days. Summer has begun and so has day camp at the YMCA. My son wanted to attend this summer camp knowing that he’d get to swim every day. He’s been taking swim lessons since last fall and has mastered skills like floating on his back and picking up toys at the bottom of the pool in the shallow end. Missing a home for insects in Austria

Here in the U.S. I miss all the hustle and bustle of the many insects that visit my Austrian country house every year. So far, I have only seen three brimstone butterflies, as well as a few bees and wasps. But I’ve come across lots and lots of mowers. If I ever thought that grass couldn’t be cut any shorter, Americans taught me otherwise.
