Stocks dip ahead of report on inflation

NEW YORK (AP) — Wall Street dipped on Tuesday following some mixed earnings reports, as stocks remain roughly where they’ve been stuck for more than a month. The S&P 500 fell 18.95 points, or 0.5%, to 4,119.17. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 56.88, or 0.2%, to 33,561.81, while the Nasdaq composite fell 77.36, or 0.6%, to 12,179.55. NEW YORK (AP) — Fox Corp. swung to a third quarter loss, weighed down by Fox News’ nearly $800 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems. Mass. Senate unveils nearly $56B state budget plan

BOSTON (AP) — The Massachusetts Senate unveiled a $55.8 billion state budget proposal for the new fiscal year Tuesday even as tax collections for April fell more than $2 billion below collections for the same month last year. The Senate budget would let all Massachusetts students, regardless of immigration status, qualify for in-state tuition rates at public colleges and universities, provided they attended a Massachusetts high school for at least three years and graduated or obtained a GED. Penn State board OKs more athletics upgrades
